Prepare For Lunch Launch

Today I am revealing my blog to the public. Admittedly that means telling a couple of my friends (who already know about it) to visit this website.

Yeah, I know. It’s not that big a deal. But it is to me. It means I’ve finally got it looking how I want it (and removed enough from the Movable Type default template). Sure, I’ll probably keep tweaking, but you don’t have to know that. In fact, why are you actually even still reading this?

Much props to Az, who helped me a lot to get this blog up and working. And for the inspiration for the title of this post.

Waaaahhhh!!!

My bad luck car hex is back — with a vengeance! Just when I thought I’d ridden myself of bad luck with cars (sealed with the trading in of the Magna), some random, nameless, green car driving, ass-muncher does this to my beautiful car — and only two months after I’d bought it.

At first I was thinking my insurance would protect me, but alas, I cannot name who was at fault, so I might as well have done it myself. The worst of it is, I was so enjoying having a “new” car, and now I have to pay for the privilege of having someone take it away.

A day at the races

Went to the races yesterday, with free passes to the Qantas marquee. It granted us free entry, but we soon found out that Qantas weren’t attending Stakes Day. No free sandwiches. So we joined the plebians in the main stands.

Claire took this photo. It’s a surprisingly good picture of us

Claire came with us, and a good day was had by all. I didn’t win any money (in fact I was down about $25 when we left — I suck at picking winners. Naomi however is extraordinarily good at it!), but it was nice to get gussied up for something other than a wedding or funeral for a change, and I was voted best dressed man on the day by the carpark bus driver — judge for yourself.

Props to Joobs for the specs.
