An offer I couldn’t refuse
As you may or may not have read in my Sidebar, I’ve been playing a lot of The Godfather on PS2 this last week, and I’m loving it like a fat kid loves cake! I read an article about them making this game a while ago, about how they got James Caan and Robert Duvall to provide the voices, and somehow secured the late great Marlon Brando (obviously Al Pacino’s camp were not so accommodating, as Michael Corleone looks like Italiano Generico). It obviously must’ve worked on me ‘cause not only was I hanging out for it’s release, but I bought the 2-Disc Collectors Edition (The second disc is basically a DVD of James Caan fluffing lines — I know, I’m a marketing company’s dream).
As a movie fan, being able to immerse oneself in 1940’s New York is pretty fucken cool. The detail is almost perfect, especially in places we got a good look at in the film, like the Italian-American diner in which Sollozzo “The Turk” and Cpt. McCluskey get whacked. Haha… whacked.

With a feature they call MobFace I made my game character look (kinda) like me.
Anyways, so far I’m really enjoying this game, though I read on the internet that finishing the game and becoming Don of NYC is somewhat disappointing, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it, eh?
