More like Jerks II
I am a semi-regular reader of Kevin Smith’s blog My Boring Ass Life, so when he mentioned there, that he would be visiting Melbourne when his new film Clerks II opened on August 31, I made a note of the date in my phone.
Then I read in Hit that the Melbourne premiere will be at The Astor on August 25, with Mr. Smith in attendance, and that tickets are available from Ticketmaster. I eagerly jumped on over to Ticketmaster, only to discover tickets had sold out. It seems that although Hit had mentioned it on Thursday as though it was recent news, and despite my existing membership to Ticketmaster’s newsletter, neither had alerted me to the fact that tickets had not only gone on sale on Monday, but that there was also a pre-sale on Sunday. I didn’t stand a chance.
We rang Ticketmaster numerous times to check for cancellations, to no avail. I trawled eBay, but was outbid by an incomprehensible margin by some lunatic who paid $404 for two tickets!
If you haven’t guessed by the title of this post yet — I didn’t get to see it. Bad publicity, bad venue, bad timing — it’s everybody’s fault but mine! I might do an update to this post when I actually get round to seeing the film. Or not.
On the positive side though, I did get a new job, and house, and it’s my birthday in a couple of weeks, so two out of three ain’t bad.

I totally feel your pain. I would be pissed about missing out on a chance to see Kev and hear him speak. I’m pissed just thinking about it. The movie’s meant to be great, too.
Once again, congrats on the job mate, well deserved. I don’t know how the paper will survive without you.

Um, some things are best left unblogged. All will be revealed in due time, my pretties.

Who does the guy commenting ‘on topic’ think he is….? btw…it’s OUR birthday.

HEY! ‘On-topic’ commenting shouldn’t be discouraged.
And yes, OUR birthday will not go unheralded.

what about half-on-half-off topic posts?
Do they count?
I’m so sick of seeing that Clerks 2 ad on tele… there are only so many times you can see Rosario Dawson (despite her hotness) say ‘i’m disgusted yet i can’t look away’ …which is a total Seinfeld rip off anyway…
hall and oates?

Are you actually trying to segue into Hall & Oates?!?
Those of me still on-topic, a write up of the Kevin Smith thing can be found here.

Hall and Oates 1981 hit: I Can’t Go for That.
I didn’t even watch the first Clerks movie…

I Can’t go for that wasn’t their greatest hit… Maneater or Your Kiss is on my list are far superior….
