The Belles at the Forum

Naomi, Robert, Rosie and I had the privilege of seeing the favourite band of effeminate boys and ugly girls alike, Belle & Sebastian at The Forum on Saturday night, and I thought it was a pretty damn good show.

I didn’t see them last time, and I’ve been kicking myself since. So having secured tickets months in advance, I wanted to make sure we had a good spot. Knowing the Forum has a row of booths just beyond the main floor, Nao and I got there deliberately early to nab one.

After a counter meal at the Duke of Wellington, we joined a quickly forming line outside the theatre. Plaid and paisley abounded. A sea of scarves and argyle knee-high socks. Stockings with flat shoes, and peacoats as far as the eye could see.

Fauves design gig

As I’ve already mentioned, after hearing The Fauves had a new album in the works, I emailed them to see if I could design the cover. Well, Coxy eventually got back to me…

The Fauves at The Rob Roy

According to the title of this post, I saw The Fauves at the Rob Roy Hotel on Saturday night, along with Nao, Robert and Rosie. They played some old favourites, along with some semi-old songs that I can’t recall hearing live before, peppered with a couple of duds (I think it’s time to drop ‘Ticket to the Big Time’, and ‘Nairobi Nights’ from the live set).
